  • The teams are divided into Group A and Group B, with 4 teams in each group.
  • Each team plays the other 3 teams in its own group.
  • All 8 teams qualify for the quarter-finals.
  • Group-stage results determine the rankings and quarter-final matchups.

2Match format

Group stage
1 set to 8 games
Quarter-finals
1 set to 8 games
Semi-finals
1 set to 9 games
Final
Best of 3 sets, each to 6 games

Tiebreak rules

  • If a set reaches 7–7, a tiebreak is played.
  • The tiebreak is played to 7 points, and a team must win by 2 points.
  • If the tiebreak reaches 99–99, the next point is match point and decides the winner.
  • Time penalties do not apply during a tiebreak. Tiebreaks must be completed normally, however long they take.

3Group stage rules

  • Each team plays 3 matches, one against each other team in its group.
  • Teams are ranked by the number of matches won.
  • If two or more teams are tied on match wins, these tiebreakers apply in order:
    1. Head-to-head result between the tied teams.
    2. Game difference: total games won minus total games lost across the group stage.
    3. Total games won: the team with more games won ranks higher.
    4. Organisers’ decision if teams remain tied.
  • The final group standings determine the quarter-final matchups.

4Quarter-finals

  • QF1: Group A 1st vs Group B 4th
  • QF2: Group B 1st vs Group A 4th
  • QF3: Group A 2nd vs Group B 3rd
  • QF4: Group B 2nd vs Group A 3rd
  • Each quarter-final is 1 set to 8 games. The four winners advance to the semi-finals.

5Semi-finals & final

Semi-finals

  • The four quarter-final winners play two semi-finals.
  • Each semi-final is 1 set to 9 games. The winners advance to the final.
  • The time penalty for long matches does not apply.

Final

  • The two semi-final winners play for the championship.
  • Best of 3 sets, each set to 6 games. The first team to win 2 sets wins the tournament.
  • The time penalty for long matches does not apply.

6Match time limits & delays

  • Group-stage matches and quarter-finals should normally finish within 35 minutes.
  • If a match goes over 35 minutes, the organisers issue a warning.
  • Players must finish the current match, even if it goes over the time limit.
  • For every extra 5 minutes beyond 35, the team’s opponent in its next match gets a 1-game advantage:
    • 35 minutes or less: no penalty
    • 40 minutes: next opponent starts at 1–0
    • 45 minutes: next opponent starts at 2–0
    • 50 minutes: next opponent starts at 3–0
    • The penalty keeps growing by 1 game for every extra 5 minutes.
  • Time penalties do not apply during a tiebreak.
  • Time penalties apply only to group-stage matches and quarter-finals, not semi-finals or the final.
  • The organisers will tell you about any penalty before the affected match begins.

7Mandatory score reporting

  • After every match, the final score must be reported to Aaryan Mehta.
  • One of the four players in the match must take responsibility for reporting it.
  • Report the score immediately after the match finishes.
  • Make sure the score is accurate and agreed by both teams.
  • Your result must be reported before you start your next match.
  • Reporting scores is mandatory for every match in the tournament.

8Balls

  • Every player must bring their unopened Alacran balls from the ADPL tournament.
  • The balls must be unopened when presented to the organisers.
  • The organisers will confirm the balls are suitable before matches begin.

9Entry fee

  • The entry fee is €35 per person.
  • Each player must pay before the tournament begins.

10Mandatory team colours

  • Every team must wear its designated colour during every match.
  • Both players must wear clothing that clearly shows their team’s colour.
  • Confirm your colour with the organisers before the tournament begins.
  • Avoid colours too similar to another team’s.
  • The organisers may ask a team to change clothing that does not meet the requirements.
  • Your colour is mandatory from the group stage through to the final.

11Mandatory attendance

  • Every player must stay at the venue from the start until the tournament officially ends.
  • This applies even if your team is knocked out in the quarter-finals or semi-finals.
  • Do not leave early without permission from the organisers.
  • Everyone stays until the final has finished.

12Calls, disputes & fair play

  • The person making the call has the final decision on the point.
  • If both teams disagree about a point, a line call or a mistake and it can’t be resolved, the point is replayed.
  • Respect the decision and don’t keep arguing once the point is resolved.
  • Respect your opponents, teammates and organisers.
  • Deliberate delays and unsportsmanlike behaviour are not permitted.
  • Any further disputes go to the organisers, whose decision is final.
Good luck to all teams!
Play fair, arrive on time, wear your team colours, report every score to Aaryan Mehta, and enjoy the tournament!
